No, not the most versatile. The upper grate should be in a U-channel so the grate won’t flip out when you pull it out.
I'm a bit confused by removing the drain tray in order to direct/in direct grill…where will the drippings go if you remove the drip tray?

So is it gas or electric? Im not understanding how it works i guess.
For 1100+ dollars I can cook a lot of BBQ on my 89 dollar smoker. with just a little effort and a couple of beers. But for those who are novices it may be option. I do most of my BBQ with real wood and a smoker that is older then most novices out there. But rural life does have it's advantages you can BBQ with wood that you have already and just about any homemade grill or smokehouse without the use of electric". But to each their own" enjoy.
