Same thing happened to me all of you IN the comments have no idea what you are talking about, there can be multiple reasons why, for me it was because the fan wasn't working and then I nugged ot and it started. This made it do that.
You know the instructions tell you what to do in case of a fire you turn it off, and there’s no reason that it would’ve popped or exploded if there wasn’t something in there that could’ve caused it
That happened to us today ⁰5/02/22 What happened was tht the pellets got stuck or stopped even though there was a full bin. In the auger which moves it to the burner. Then we set it to high(500°) to see if auger would move it did (too much of it). smoke was increasing afterward and 2 minutes later a large blast

Both lids should be open during start up phase
