Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! I saw the Buckethead at Home Depot but wasn’t sure of a good application for it…pellet removal is perfect since my Traeger (Eastwood 34 edition from Home Depot) doesn’t come with the backdoor pellet removal feature.
I've found a great bucket to use to store my pellets. My aunt has cats and so uses Tidy Cats scoopable litter. The buckets are rectangular, free and stack nicely. Bonus: a full bag of pellets fits in the bucket with room to spare!!! I designed and printed some labels so at least they don't look like Tidy Cats buckets anymore, they're fully customized for the variety of pellets that I normally use.
Heading to the depot to grab one right now. I got the Junior Traeger and this looks like a great option. How's your Traeger doing? Here we are 8 months later and that bad boy (Bucket Head) works great along with the Homer buckets. Numerous little problems solved with this, Thanks for your effort.
AWESOME! My husband thanks you as he just got his Traeger and was wondering how to change the pellets. He's off to Home Depot in the morn for his setup. 🙂
Thanks! I saw this vacuum and wondered if it would work to get the pellets out of there and now I know I will get the shelf as well because it will come in handy to work on without having to transfer to the kitchen. I really love your storage Idea as well. Thanks to David Spector for the links to all the items.
I haven't seen this question asked soo. Do you get a cover to use with the bucket, when you suggest using it to store the pellets Seems like a great idea economically. Thank you
Hi Kyle, Yes, like you, I have used vacuum canister cleaners to clean out my grills. Sure works nice just like you said. I sure do appreciate your suggestion for those bins to keep your wood pellets or anything dry and separate from accidental co mingling flavors. Great instructional video. Thank you again. Beautiful and clean looking set up you have there. I just bought the same grill last week and this video answered the question I was asking myself. Thanks!
Like your storage, wouldn't it make sense to use buckets for the pellets, then you could use the appropriate bucket to put then Vac on to empty the Traeger pellets in a change over.
Trash video you clown
Absolutely perfect! My OCD is 🤗🤗🤗🤗
Now that the pellet grills have a hopper clean out try this solution

That’s awesome!!! Thank you for sharing that I just purchased my first traeger and believe me that was very helpful.
Good idea. Thnx!
Looks like I need to look for a bucket head…. Just got a Traeger Pro 34
Great idea and great video. Thanks!
That's awesome! Genius idea, with switching the pellets out with a small "Pellet" only vacuum!!!
Good ideas. Thanks.

Do you use the same vacuum to remove the pellets to clean the dust out the traeger also, or just buy an extra vacuum ?
THANK YOU FOR THE ADVICE
could you use the vac to vacuum cars? Would it mess up the pellets? Thanks!
Excellent idea and suggestion on the Vacuum….THANK YOU! I just got my Traeger yesterday and will now add a BUCKETHEAD.

I've seen those type of containers at Ace Hardware. Designed to hold charcoal. Looks to me like it would work just fine for pellets as well.
Where the bins waterproof?
Question, after you vacuum the pellets, is there a noticeable increase in pellet sawdust from going through the shop vac?
Great ideas. Our traeger just arrived and we are setting it up this weekend. We have a bag of all 8 flavors of pellets (our ups guy was not happy).
Love this idea, I'll bet you have all kinds of good ideas around the house, would love to see more, never heard of that vacuum before, thank you.
Elizabeth, the bucket does not come with a cover but you can buy one for about $1.50 at Home Depot.
No, I do not use this vac to clean the Traeger. The bucket head is only used to exchange the pellets, I have another shop vac for cleaning.
Do you use the bucket head vac to clean the Traeger, too?

Kyle, what size are those Kingsford containers?
Great idea….. Nice set up!!!
Thanks. I wish that I could be as organized as you.
Does the cover fit with the shelf on?
Glad I could help.
