I’m shocked I thought only my family made this ? my gma died and we lost the real recipe ???
So i guess you just add however much ingredients you want to add? ?
And sopping chopping? Wtf you talking about? Its choclate gravy no matter where you are but why make a video if you dont know the ingredients ?
My mom made this sometimes when I was a kid. I loved it. I’ve made it a couple of times years ago.
My grandpa used to make this & watching this video brought back a lot of memories with him! I bet I haven’t had this in 10 years. I’m going to have to try to make it! Thanks for sharing ❤️
My former in-laws from Tennessee would fix this. My ex loved it. To this day I don't know of anybody else that has had it before. It really never appealed to me. Only the southerners I knew.
Waste of time without measurements in video or show notes.
Ive never had it myself but my Mother (who lived in the south) had had it many times as a little girl…why she never made it for us remains a mystery to this day…
When I tell my friends my grandma made this for me as a young girl they say " NO WAY !"
Mom made this with home made biscuits I Love It!!! I miss home cooking I have made this and it's great!
im 13 now this was the first real food i ate as a baby my grandma still makes it for me and its awesome
in arkansas our school served us chocolate gravy and biscuits on fridays for breakfast. it was amazing i miss those days
i am from texas.. i asked around. nobody i know has ever heard of chocolate gravy. im going to try this recipe
My grandmother from guntown mississippi used 2 make us this lol no salt water with milk water gets rid of lumps without vanilla is how she made it butnits kool 2 see people posting what our family history made decades ago nice vid man
Always blew my mind that everyone in northern Alabama knows this dish but right across the line in Georgia it's unheard of.
That's not a sauce pan and that whisk isnt the right tool for the job.
Sounds good though!!
Have it every Christmas morning. Thx Mom!
GREAT VID, THX!!
THANK YOU! I had this a couple times while visiting family in the south and I brought it up when I was a teenager (i'm 40 now) and no one knew what I was talking about and I really started to doubt that I had actually eaten chocolate gravy. I remember it not tasting like a dessert chocolate but rather just a hint of it. I also recall it developing a film on top if you do let it sit. I no longer feel crazy anymore!
Also totally going to make this.
I was born and raised in georgia and never heard of this until I got married and my mother in law made it ,I've been addicted to it ever since !!!
Only ever had this once. My friends grandma made it. My grandma is good at cooking but she has never made me this for some reason.
I ate this growing up. So weird
My friend's mom use to make these. She topped them with peanut butter before adding the gravy. Kind of a reece's cup gravy and biscuits.
love chocolate gravy
Just because you're Southern doesn't mean you've heard of every single southern dish. This is a regional dish (I'm pretty sure it was "invented" in Arkansas).
My wife, who grew up in Arkansas said she hated it as a kid. She does not know if it was just a bad cook or she couldnt get over it not being GRAVY! She seems to think that what she had was regular old biscuts and gravy that they added chocolate to. So since she hated it… I told her we have to make this and try it out!
