Smoke Roasted Chicken Recipe by the BBQ Pit Boys

Watch one of the BBQ Pit Boys show you how easy it is to barbecue chicken “low and slow” and keep it tender and juicy!

Ingredients:
2 5-6lb. Roasting Chickens
Olive Oil or Butter
Soy Sauce
Black Pepper

Coat the chickens with equal parts oil/butter, and Soy Sauce. BBQ on your smoker, or with indirect heat on your covered grill at 250f for about 4-5 hours, or until the internal temperature of the chicken reaches 180f.

Love this chan, i just wish they would use their nouse a bit more with temps. You do not need a thermometer with a probe, sight and touch tells you all you need to know. Only with sous vide and fine dining where they barely hit the required temp to kill bacteria in order to have food extra rare or blue do you need this level of precaution imo. A chicken smoked for 5 hours is well at temp, no need to be letting those juices leak out like that.

Trying to do something similar on the Weber Q which probably won't take as long. I've added some harissa to the soy sauce and oil mix to give it a little zing. Thanks from Port Hughes in South Australia for the inspiration.
