In this Rib Tips Recipe video, we will teach you how to make Smoked Rib Tips on the BBQ to pull for sandwiches. Alot of people would say that these are even better than pulled pork!

What you will need to make this Rib Tip Recipe is:

2 – Rib Tip Sections (we cut our in half)
3 cups BBQ Sauce
3/4 cup water
3 medium onions
2 tbs butter
BBQ rub of your choice

Rib Tips recipe Step #1
Cut your rib tips in half. this will help get more rub and smoke into the rib tips. Apply your rub and let sit for 30 minutes

Rib Tips recipe Step #2
Set up your grill for indirect cooking at 275 degrees. Once set up place your ribs tips opposite the coals and begin smoking for 2 hours with your favourite hardwood.

Rib Tips recipe Step #3
After 2 hours, take your cast iron dutch oven and add in your butter and sliced onions and begin cooking the onions for about 5 minutes. After 5 minutes add in your bbq sauce and your water and give it a mix followed by placing your smoked rib tips into your braising sauce.

Rib Tips recipe Step #4
Let your rib tips braise in your pot for another 1.5 hours or until the meat is pulling apart nicely.

TIP: Add more hardwood to increase the smoky flavour in the sauce.

TIP: To speed up the braising time add a lid for the first 30 minutes.

Rib Tips recipe Step #5
After 3.5 to 4 hours your rib tips will be finished.. remove from the braising sauce and pull it apart while making sure to remove all the small bones and cartilage. Once pulled, place back into the braising sauce and mix together.

Rib Tips recipe Step #6
Once all the above steps are completed, grab a hoagie bun and place the smoked braised rib tips on top and enjoy.
