Painted clam shells make great decorations. When I was a kid we sold them as ash trays.
I loveee Steamers , they are oval and have a neck sticking out, can only get in New England I think , we just steam them and dip them in melted butter, awesome

Wouldn't it be better to add the sauce to the shellfish before pouring into the bowl and giving it a stir? So the sauce covers all the shellfish evenly.
