I got confused there for a minute when you said you could fry the scrapple. I distinctly remember that you cannot fry scrapple as it will disintegrate. Of course, you are right and I am wrong. I was remembering souse meat. If you fry that, it melts the connective gelatin. Larry, do something with souse meat.

These are actually delicious. Whenever i sleepover my friend’s house we make pancakes, scrapple and pork roll (that is if they haven’t eaten it all). Good memories

Hi Larry. I discovered Treet on What Are We Eating. I found it, bought it, and I like it better than Spam too. I never heard of scrapple until we moved to Pa and I saw it on the menu at a local diner. I gave it a shot and thought it was disgusting. But the young waitress told me that this commercial scrapple was not very good, and they made it at home and it was much better. I see it 8n the supermarkets here, maybe I'll give it another try. I'll look for your brand, but I know you live in a different state.

Scrapple is NE US thing, which is why people outside the region are unfamiliar with it. It basically comes from Amish/PA Dutch people.

Coat it with flour before frying it and you won't have to worry about it turning into a mushy mess. It fries up so much better.

Also Rappa is like my least favorite brand. I prefer Hatfield, and on the extremely rare chance I can get it, scrapple straight from Amish people is even better.
