On-Cor $2.58 Chicken Parmigiana (FAMILY SIZE) – WHAT ARE WE EATING?? – The Wolfe Pit

Chicken Parmigiana! Or is it Chicken Parmesan? Chicken Parm? Chicken Parma? Either way it’s a classic Italian-American food! Chicken breast pounded out thinly, coated with seasoned bread crumbs, fried and topped with tomato sauce and mozzarella, Parmesan or provolone cheese! Whether you have it as a main dish or on a sandwich it’s absolutely delicious!

Even though real Chicken Parmigiana is a very quick and simple dinner to make, some people are busy, don’t have the time or don’t want to cook dinner every night! That’s when they opt for a frozen dinner like this Oncor Chicken Parmigiana family size frozen entrée for a mere $2.58! People want convenient foods that you simply heat and eat for easy dinners! BUT is this frozen meal any good or is it an abomination to the classic and very popular chicken Parmesan recipe? Watch the cooking video for the full food review and taste test!

As most of you already know my local Dollar Tree, Family Dollar, Dollar General or Walmart stores are my own personal adult playgrounds. I shop at these stores to find food that is generally highly processed, full of fillers and simply bad for us to eat regularly! Meat, vegetables, canned food, frozen food, refrigerated food, boxed food, vegan food, vegetarian food and all sorts of prepared foods, if it’s cheap and questionable I will do a taste test and food review on it! I also show you these foods are no bargain like these discount stores and manufacturers lead you to believe. I do this to show you that fresh foods are not only healthier, but they’re also cheaper than these so called bargain foods. So far I haven’t gotten sick, but some of these foods are certainly questionable and have come close to making me sick.

I think the price and convenience of being able to microwave these are the point. They will never be "crispy". That being said, I enjoy your videos mostly, and here is my free advice that no one asked for:
    1) Leave the funny alone. Self-deprecating humor is okay, but there's no call for more than 3 jokes or 7 seconds of "funny" comments.
    2) The plastic knife and fork must go. You're making it part of the bit and it's irritating. In the best situation, they suck as utensils. Your ham hands can barely grasp the plastic tools, BTW. You look like those hands from an "As Seen on TV" commercial, where the person can't handle basic tasks, thus requiring the nifty gadget that they are pushing for sale.
    3) Can't understand your thing with TVP or soy, but fillers are nothing new, especially cheap foods. While filler in something claiming to be one ingredient is unlawful(literally), in ground products it's necessary. Ever have a homemade meatball that's 90% lean with no breadcrumbs? And really. Are you trying to state that anyone is accepting the chicken parm as homemade?
    4) In your En-cor Chicken Parmigiana segment, you mention ground beef a couple of times, because it's listed in the ingredients. You missed that it is pre-stated by "Contains less than 2% of". They probably add water to Ground beef and boil it for broth for the red gravy (I don't know that, just guessing). Any Govt. Inspected food containing meat has labeling regulations, and anything labeled Meat Sauce, as you suggested would have to have a certain percentage of meat in there. Most thrift foods don't.
    5) If nothing else, your reading of mission statements or food product on-box advertising must stop. It reminds me of a supervisor I had that would give us handouts and then he'd read them aloud, poorly and slowly. Choose one or the other. Unless you are trying to draw out the time on your vids.

I am honestly so tempted to go out and buy a box of these sometime soon, as I remember eating these when I was younger and I really enjoyed these unironically. Since I was diagnosed as diabetic, I have yet find a recipe or a restaurant style chicken parmesan that I enjoy, and I miss that. Maybe this will be the inexpensive way for me to enjoy chicken parmesan once more! ??

They're not bad….with a little help ! For a fast mid-week dinner,I "doctor-up" the On-Cor chicken or veal patties alla parmigiana,to make them better ! First off, they are mostly bread and low quality and the sauce is watery and tastes like tomato soup.I defrost the package and layer with shredded mozzarella, fresh basil leaves, garlic powder, black pepper, drizzle a little extra virgin olive oil over it,and then spoon in some good jarred sauce like Bertolli or Barilla well around the patties. On top I add a nice layer of sauce, basil and mozzarella. I let it cook well, and get crusty, brown and bubbly on top.It looks and tastes much better this way with a little fuss and goes good with garlic bread and a side of spaghetti.

I honestly love these. Very cheap and easy to prep. I know it's not the better than the real deal, but I don't need it to be. I just need something that tastes good and fills me up without breaking my bank account. I make this with a side of mashed potatoes and mac and cheese.
