Looks good, but don't call it chowder. This is nothing like New England chowder.
Dude, this is JUST what I was looking for….a stew without all that cream shit. I can roll with that salt pork base too. Along with the cod/haddock, have you tried making this like Manhattan clam chowder with some crushed tomatoes, the onions, celery and potatoes (don't really care about the potatoes) and maybe some scallops?

i would have made a roux with flour some of the rendered fat ..then slowly added water to prevent lumps…but man oh man that looks so rib stickin' good!!!
