Hey Wolfe since you're interested in Udon Noodles take a look at one of my friends on here who has lived in Japan for over 20 years and has his own YouTube channel about Japanese Cuisine and a variety of others. His channel is Ericsurf6, aka Eric and this video I'm sharing with you is Eric eating Udon and Tempura. I thought you might enjoy the vid. He's a great guy and really funny, just like you! Hope you take a gander at it! TFS and TC my friend, Kelly. :))

I've had Udon twice, both times the same brand in the same style of ramen. For me the noodles were soft but a little too firm and never soaked up any of the broth. I know it's not the same as having actual Udon so I can't say I hate it.

I can get the noodles on their own at my local asian market.. I do prefer ramen type noodles though. my personal favorite is the Jajang noodles. just make sure it has the paste and not the powdered mix. I usually get the Paldo brand Jajang noodles.

i know im late to the party, but those artifical sweeteners will fuck you right up. i cant remember if its sucralose or sorbitol in pedialyte, but it sent me the the ER. it kills all the good bacteria. i was left with intense stomach pains for a few days until i decided to go get checked out. now i always check ingredient lists and make sure that shit isnt in there.

sorbitol is terrible. im pretty sure its in pedialyte as well. i was dehydrated one night so i decided to have some pedialyte to help out, but turns out sorbitol kills bacteria in your stomach. i ended up in the ER with colitis the next morning.

I recently tried Nissin Bowl Noodles. Hot and Spicy. Chicken flavor.. has picture of a hot chili and a lime slice on front. There are several flavors.
Had a similar result.. they were delicious. Best ramen I've had so far. Lots of flavor.. not.too spicy or salty.
Will try the ones you ate .. never had those before.

Yes, Udon noodles are the bomb ! They are a great start for a delicious meal. What's in the package is good for a starter, then, I like to add about a dozen shrimp, 1/2 teaspoon of fish sauce (or sesame seed oil), and something green, like thinly sliced spinach, kale, or whatever green stuff you might have in the fridge. THINLY sliced button mushrooms are a nice additive. If you can find some kimchee; it makes a PERFECT side dish. A wisked egg is also an awesome addition. The sky is the limit to what you can do with Ramen/Udon noodles. A quick, tasty, and inexpensive dish, for sure ! And please, use chopsticks, not a fork.
