    Hi Larry!

I see you are using a Big Green Egg or the like.  In another life when I was a kid, I lived in Los Angeles and saw an ad in the LA Times for such a device.  Nothing fancy.  I drove to LAX to the Flying Tiger Lines warehouse, plunked down my $25 cash, and took home my BBQ.   My family and I used it for a couplea years until one day during a BBQ session it imploded.  Seems that in the manufacture of same, a large bubble had been created in the lid.  I guess during one of our rains it got water in the bubble and in the process of BBQing steam developed and blew it up and in.

    My loss.

BUT I Shirley like what you did with the Huli Huli Chicken.

You continue to do good work.

    Thanks

I worked with a chef that is pure genius. Every dish he comes up with is nothing short of perfect. His Greek chicken is the best chicken (anything) that I've ever had. Until I made this recipe and followed your steps. Holy shit! Home run! You were dead on when you said all of the steps are worth it.

Got a decent charcoal bbq on sale and this was the first real recipe i wanted to try based on the urban lore that surrounded it in my circles many years ago. Anyways, it did NOT disappoint. Sweet on the outside (almost in a tropical bubblegum way), and spicy inside. Plus super juicy and finishes with a great smokey flavour. Super worth it.

Thank You for this recipe! We tried it yesterday and loved it. We will
be serving this at our next family party at the lake. Looks like we will
make it a Hawaiian themed party. Do you have any other recommendations
for additional recipes for the party? Side Dishes? Other Protein dishes?
    Cocktails? Thanks Again!!!

Ok. Made it and it is definitely restaurant quality–in fact I wish there were restaurants in my area that made sumpin as good as this. This is why I stopped going to bbq joints around my area—they just suck. I make much better ribs and chicken in my backyard. My fav part of this recipe was the sauce which I will use for lots of other recipes. Thx so much for this recipe.

The sauce is done and it is really sweet, tangy yummy. I've cooked enuff chicken enuff ways to already know this is gonna be really, really good. But I'll just remain on the fence and wait until its done. I'll let y-all know

Hey Wolf, great vid. I luv the recipe but that's not why I'm gonna give you a thumbs up. I'm giving you a thumbs up cuz ur not like the countless moron cooks who need to make 20 minute videos just to illustrate how to make ice cubes, steamed rice or toast. Your presentation was good, your demonstration was superb, your explanation was superb and you kept it short, sweet and concise. All that can be summed up to outstanding editing skills. Thumbs up—way up!

I like this approach generally but the ketchup really threw me. I figured "Hey, I hate mayonnaise too but it's good in a lot of stuff!" Nah, I substituted the Huy Fong Foods Sriracha for the ketchup and it was much better the second time around.

I wanna try this but the only thing I've ever cooked on the grill is burgers, steaks, and chicken breast. Would this be okay for a beginner? Also are you in South Carolina ? I saw someone say "Carolina brother"
