    i think this looks gouud! being a steak and tator kind of guy i would skip the salsa and use chilli sauce and put some tators in foil with butter and the chilli rub on the grill

    You're right, steak rub burns because its chunks. If you want a presonal trick i use, ater i rubbed i slap hard on each side of the steak to make rub penetrates and be protected. right after i mop it with one of your faves (Apple cider vinegar) and then mop with oil before putting on the grill. I can guarantee you that it wont burn even with sizzling heated grill :)! Try it out and give em some news !
