Hi! This vid covers how I light and manage the pizza stone temperature using the Ooni Fyra 12! I also have some Smokey Chimney ASMR in there too!
Nice video. A few things… try adding pellets very slowly during initial light and only a half scoop or less at a time as adding too much too fast will smother the flame. As you did, blowing into the back a little will usually get it going again.
As far as helping pellets drop, try using a skinny round metal file and gently poking the pellets from the top once in a while. You’ll feel and see them fall into the tray and works much better than banging on the hopper. I’ve found that tapping the hopper can make the flu close , since as you mentioned, they tend to be loose. If that happens, hopefully you catch it in time before the flame goes out. Also, to fix this, try putting a metal washer under the nut that holds the flu in the chimney. That will keep it in place and add more resistance. Another option is to remove the flue from the chimney and stretch the springs out to add tension. Ooni will replace the chimney if requested but the new one will eventually have the same problem, so you’re better off fixing it yourself. Hope that helps

I have also a Ooni Fyra, happy with the pizza, but my pellets stick in the pellet hopper, so I have to shake the hopper to get the pellets down. More people with the same issue?
