    american doesnt seem to do much cooking with fresh ingredient….. , 1kg of fresh veg usually cost 0.20-1dollar , un caned beans and corn are cheap too.

    is canned food that cheap in america? in india here , for a can of tomato, corn or bean you can buy killos which will last you for a week

    I've prepared many things like this. If it were me, I'd add a few more spices, such as oregano or garlic powder. Historical note: The stew is named for President Herbert Hoover, who was in the White House when the Great Depression began. Lots of things during that sad period were named after him (no, not the vacuum cleaner).
