thanks for the videos chef Tom — very informative !!!!
That's as close as a complete clone of the Looftlighter as one can get.
$70 from Amazon (free shipping), $90 from you guys ($10 shipping)
have you guys used the Red dragon equip to start coals?
Interesting product. I have been using a chimney and a lighter cube for years. With briquettes it is easy. Lump is a bit more uneven though and lots of mess if not careful. Thanks for the great vids?
Hey Chef Tom, great video as usual. Just curious, how long did you actually have to stand there lighting the charcoal in various places? I'm just curious as to what your overall time investment was in getting that pile of charcoal lit. Thanks.
one difference is that you are free to do other things while using the chimney start. with that fire stick thingy, you have to hold it the entire time, which isn't efficient use of my time.
Looks like a great tool, only drawback that I see is that it requires you to stand there holding the red button, whereas the chimney is lit and then I can go do other things like finish my prep.
Is it any better or worse than the Looftlighter which I think claims 1500 degrees.
I have the BGE version of this – it works as advertised!
20 minutes for chimney starter to get the coals ready? I don't know man, Mine is always ready in 15min everytime. You know what? I'm gonna order that heating tool and do a review on it.
I am using an old hair dryer and several pieces of solid alcohol.
Did you move the Electrolight around and hit multiple areas of the charcoal pile, or did you keep it in one spot? Great video! Thanks!
got a use it in the fireplace other than that it in the closet. have used the weber since I got that wichita with a log lighter
