Wolfie, I just ran across this old video of yours.

When I first moved to Greenville, NC from GA back in 1996, I stopped by a hot dog place and got a sack full of chili dogs.

I got home to find that I had buns, and chili ! That's it !

I stopped by a couple days later, and complained.

I was told that if I wanted chili hot dogs, then I should have asked for them. Stupid me, I ordered chili dogs.

Apparently there IS a difference !

I was born and raised in New York State, in 2009 I moved to Clifton Forge, Virginia where I had my first Slaw Dog which they call them there in Virginia, they are really good and when you say they're the best hotdog you'll ever have, your not kidding. I had moved back north to North-Central Pennsylvania and started making them for people here and they absolutely love them, as here in the north you don't here of Carolina/Slaw Dogs like you do down south, here it's a hot dog with sour croute which is just nasty. In the comment below, mustard is optional as in Clifton Forge, VA they made it both ways with or without mustard. Either way they're delicious.

Born and raised in NC! Moved to Dallas, TX in 1998. I have to travel all the way back to NC in order to get a good hotdog. God bless Texas, but they sure don't know much about making a good hotdog. When I moved to Texas I made the mistake of asking for a hotdog "all the way"…they had zero clue as to what I meant, lol. I miss my Carolina, ALL THE WAY, hotdogs! Thanks for the video! 🙂

You got it all right except one thing .Carolina Red Hot Dogs like Jesse Jones and Bright Leaf are the dog of choice in N.C.. Nothing wrong with the Hebrew National Dog but in the South Red Dogs are the norm like Texas Pete and Dukes Mayonnaise ..Great Video !
