I want to say this so that everyone understands. You talk about a budget and feeding a family. You use the $10.00 a meal. In 30 days, and eating only one meal a day, that is $300.00 dollars a month. I don't think that is much of a budget. If you consider that most people eat at least 3 times a day, even if you are talking 2 people and using everything that they have left over, they are still going to fall short on food. I know people that are on government benefits, here in Ohio and they get around $175.00 a month for 2 people. And this doesn't take into account that one or more people in the household may have a special needs diet. So if I take $175.00 and divide that by 30 it equals $5.83 per day for food. Now divide that by 3 and you get $1.94 per meal per day. Now you know why some people do have to eat out of the dollar stores.

PLEASE don’t call it “beef stew”. It’s some sort of shit soup that might have some meat byproduct unit. If the majority is vegetable then just fucking say VEGETABLE fucking soup with a slight amount of animal protein in it, you bastards. Oh! I forgot… the CEO’s need to make a huge bonus each year, right?

Dinty moore changed their recipe a while back, they used to have real beef chunks and was my absolute favorite canned stew.
Then they tried to pass off dog food for the beef, haven't had it since. I even complained, the funny thing was, they claimed nothing was changed. That's capitalism for ya.

Here is something to consider, other stews are canned and then cooked while in the can. That is why most of them have congeled fat on top when you open them. The fat was on the bottom because the can was inverted before cooking, allowed to cool before turning the can up right.

You will find the same thing if you open a can of stew that you get at Aldi! It is a good way as long you don't scrape the bottom of the can from eating all that fat.

Nobody makes a good canned beef stew, anymore. I'm old enough to remember after going camping and eat various canned foods to minimize my need to cook and eat while on camping trips as well as at home. The stews today are bland and not as good as they were decades ago. The best one, a long time ago was Austex beef stew and their canned chili, with and without beans was the best, but yhis product dissapeared. Dinty More was really good and had a thick creamy, full flavored type of stew broth, but lately, it's became bland and thin, with almost no real flavor or texture. The same with other brands and this goes for the other chilies. Wolf brand chili is the best, in my opinion, I'd eat it all the time, except because of my age and physical condition, it's a chili is a bit rough on my intestinal tract, otherwise I'd eat it all the time, and especially with old people, the chili with beans, gives us gas and stomach problems. I guess the age affects us that way as well. Now as an old person I understand why we were referred to as, "Old Farts". So many foods, now, makes us gassy. No laughing matter anymore. Anywho, those are my two cents on this canned beef stew matter. Thank you for allowing me to comment. J.M.
