Hey Pit Boys! When i tried this recipe with my dad (maybe 1 year ago), the chicken was fully coocked but tasted like yeast/ leaven (we left it on the grill long enough, got the same weber grill as in the video but without the table-thing. Also used enough charcoal). Maybe we used the wrong beer :(. Can i also try it with water and herbs and spices in it even if i know that this might be not the manliest way to do it. BTW: should i use oil to rub the chicken with it and the spices….what do you think, BBQ experts 😉

I read that scientific testing shows that the beer doesn't get warm enough to boil. And that the mass of the "warm" beer keeps the inside of the chicken from cooking.

What temp was your grill at? Or does the ring of fire kinda defeat a certain temp?. I wanna do my first beer can chicken like this but I have a offset barrel smoker.. should still work fine I reckon. (Gonna use a lime a Rita) I've never seen anyone do one with lime a Rita! LIGHTBULB LOL. y'all are awesome . Big fan since day one!

I have the rotisserie attachment for my Weber, it came with a ring that makes the cooking chamber taller. So I can fit the beer can chicken on the grill grate. I alternate between spinning the bird on the rod and beer can style, both ways come out nice and juicy.
