I never liked pot pies, as a kid I was forced to eat them and gagged on them. Pie crusts do not be long with meat and vegetables in a sloppy gravy. There's meat and there's vegetables, they're both good, you don't miss them together and cover them with some gross sauce and add pie crust of all things, that's just sick.

I've started making this without the slit in the top. It gets crispy that way and puffs up from the mac and cheese, keeping it from going soggy. Then you can break the pieces off into the mac and eat them together and it's great. Give that a try and I bet you'll prefer that method.

1:40 Ok, so I'm someone who's up on biochemistry and I see what's being done here… basically raising the smoke point of a cheaper oil than rapeseed or groundnut oil (the other benifits are gravey from a marketing point of view), but I don't see the economics of it. Unless the dregs of olive oil production (which has already had the extra virgin olive oil, virgin olive oil and regular olive oil extracted from it) can somehow be upgraded into something usable this way in batches of 10-thousands of litres….

You have GOT to try Marie Callender's chicken corn chowder pies. It is by far the unhealthiest microwave pie you will ever have but it's got real bacon in it so you barely even notice the processed chicken 🙂

P.S. Microwave them an extra 30-60 seconds like it suggests or you will have a gooey bottom crust.

Boy a 7 out of 10…you are generous…for 1,000 flipping calories it would have to be much better to get that kind of rating from me…I mean for 1 000 calories I want some darn butter in the crust…..I mean if I am going to die of a heart attack..let it be a flakey butter induced heart attack so I can die with a smile on my face
